I'm generally skeptical about free giveaways. We've all seen the "Free Starbucks' on Facebook, only to find a clicking menagerie of confusion and no gift card at the end of the rainbow. I initially thought the same about the recent Killian's pint glass giveaway. But I saw comments from several sources (it's always good to check multiple sources, btw.) and it seemed legit.
So I took the time to fill out the form, including my address, DOB, phone number, email address, SS#, next of kin, Proof of car insurance, favorite pets name, annual salary, estimate on amount of Killian's imbibed last year (12 oz, perhaps), and I think that is about all the form required.
"Hey hey, I'm going to get free Killian's pint glasses!" I exclaimed.
"But you don't drink Killian's, and we already have more pint glasses than we can count," came the reply from my supporting wife.
In eager anticipation, I wait for the mail to come, to see if my new pint glasses have arrived. And then it all came crumbling down this morning. It seems they ran out of glasses and I won't be getting mine. Due to the "unexpected and unusual activity surrounding the promotion" it seems the supply ran out "more quickly than anticipated."
Oh, well. I guess I'll have to revert to my DFH pint glass (or IPA glass), or my Victory one. After all, there doesn't seem to be any other victory found in this story.
Did you enter for the free pint glasses too? Be sure to check you spam box in your email.
(BTW thanks to Ed for alerting me to on this via FB.)
