Perhaps aptly named, Ravi Zacharias' book "The End of Reason" is anything but reasonable. "A Response to the New Atheists" is the subtitle for this book which is directed almost exclusively to debunking Sam Harris and his books "The End of Faith" and the follow-up response "Letter to a Christian Nation."
I find not much more than a "you said this, this is wrong, you are stupid," tone throughout the entire book. Zacharias may "refute the atheist" in this rather short book, but never seems to offer any solid argument to support his claims. Reading this book reminds me of watching two kids go after each other, "I know you are, but what am I...I know you are but what am I...I know you are..."
The overview of the book on the back cover states, "[Zacharias] confidently refutes Harris's claims that God is nothing more than a figment of one's imagination..." I have yet to find that Zacharias has stopped slamming Harris long enough to even reason logically about the existence of God. Perhaps he is only proving his title throughout this book, showing that it is truly "The End of Reason."
It is clear that both authors have no true love for the other side. A more civil discourse would be nice...and something with substance please.
